In a trend that has been recurring in recent times, American critical infrastructure establishments like municipal waterworks continue to be cyberattacked. This time the City of Arkansas reported a cybersecurity incident at its water treatment plant early Sunday.
Officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are currently in Arkansas City to investigate the incident. Out of caution, the Water Treatment Facility was quickly switched to manual operations to maintain uninterrupted service while the situation is being resolved.
