Apple Pay Stopped Working for Chase Customers

On Saturday, February 17, Apple Pay was not working for some Chase customers. Those attempting to use their Chase cards via Apple Pay had their cards declined, while the physical version of the same card worked fine.

Apple’s system status page said at the time that Apple Pay and Wallet have a maintenance in progress which started at 12PM. The Chase customer service line went up to 15-minute wait times and agents were telling people that Apple Pay is “going through maintenance”. Users across the country had reported running into issues.
